Prof. Dr. Christian Hauser
DESCRIPTION
Dr Christian Hauser is Professor in Business Economics and International Management at the Swiss Institute for Entrepreneurship (SIFE) at the University of Applied Sciences HTW Chur. He studied Latin American Studies at the Universities of Cologne, Lisbon/Portugal, and Fortaleza/Brazil. He is co-founder and member of the advisory board of the Student Business Consulting Firm connosco, Cologne. In 2006, he earned his doctorate in economics on foreign trade promotion schemes at the Faculty of Management, Economics, and Social Studies at the University of Cologne. From 2002 to 2004 he worked as a Research Associate at the Centre for the Portuguese Speaking World at the University of Cologne. In 2005, he was co-organiser of the 1st Cologne Latin America Symposium (CLAS) at the University of Cologne. In 2006, he joined the Institute for SME Research (IfM) Bonn as a Postdoctoral Research Associate.
Since July 2007 Dr Hauser works at the Swiss Institute for Entrepreneurship (SIFE), Chur. His research focuses on the internationalisation of SMEs, promotion of foreign trade and investment and SME support policy. In these fields he published several articles and participated in numeral research projects. For instance, he is currently conducting a research project on cultural barriers to foreign direct investment (FDI) in Central and Eastern Europe funded by the Swiss Confederation's innovation promotion agency (CTI). Furthermore, in cooperation with several business partners, he has recently initiated a research project on corruption prevention entitled: "Handling the risks of corruption successfully - Strategies for Swiss SMEs operating abroad". He has vast experience in managing and coordinating national and international research and consulting projects in Germany, Switzerland, and Brazil.
